Cinque Terra

My friend Dana and I went to Cinque Terra on Saturday. This part of Italy is incredible, the water is so blue and it was warm. The wind was blowing just perfect and I got a nice tan while on the boat. This is a picture of a navy ship that was in the harbor. I used to love going down to the ship yard and see all the boat when I would vacation in San Diego. So I was a little surprised to see this guy.
This is a view of the town of Portovenere, our first stop on the cruise. The picture doesn't do it justice. It is just breath taking.
You could see fish swimming around down there because it was so clear. It was so pretty.
Same place as the last picture, just with me in it. Dana didn't want to be in any pictures.
This was on the way out. The villages are built on the cliffs. I have to say this is a must see if you come to Italy.

Dinner w/ the Groves

This is Jake. At dinner he tried and succeeded in shoving 6 large pieces of Honeydew/Cantaloupe hi-bred into his mouth. I know if Matt was there he would've also have tried. Gotta love dinner and a show.

Card Making

This a R.S. Craft Activity. We made cards and FHE lesson packets.
That is Kristen (RS President sitting next to me) and Janalee (2nd Counselor across from me).
I ended up making 17 cards in 3 hours. I thought it was pretty good.
We had a great time.

Haircut

This is not a very good picture but ohh well. I got a new haircut. They cut off about 3 inches. I love it. I think I will let it grow out, before Matt gets back.

Babysitting

I have been babysitting all weekend. My friend Dana went to Prague to see her husband (Danny) that was in school there.

So I watched Brooke. Brooke and I went to go see the Hunger Games. It was amazing. I loved it. The books were so much better, but it was still good. If you haven't read them, start catching up, you can buy them here. Okay back to the movie. So we are standing in line and she sees her friends, so she goes over and was talking to them, then comes back and says she wants to sit with them. I was fine with that, with the understanding that we were all going to sit together. So I buy our tickets go grab some seats, and then she said I'm going to sit in the front with my friends. She ditched me. I had to sit alone. I was totally blindsided, I thought I was the cool adult, but no apparently I'm not. She's not even my kid and I was not cool anymore. I finally understand how all the parents tell me that they are not cool.

Saturday Brooke and I went to the pool. She's the one on the right. After about 4 hours at the pool she proceeds to tell me that I don't have to stay. She is hanging out with her friends. Still not cool, day 2. I was just enjoy the day out in the sun, reading to my hearts content. This is what I'm reading.

We had a good day. We also watched Transformers Dark of the Moon. It was pretty good. I enjoy watching the cars and trucks transform. It's really cool to me.

Dana came to pick her up today. It was a fun weekend. I really enjoyed her company, when I wasn't ditched. I would do it again if they weren't moving. 12 year olds sure can be entertaining.
